Laurence Antignac is a French-Vietnamese painter. She lives and works in Paris and has spent part of her life in Asia.

Her work is nurtured by her dual culture, literature, the Masters of Modern Art and the transversality of Contemporary Art practices.

She pursues research around family dynamics, what we show socialy, the secrets we consciously or unconsciously hide.

Her paintings trigger immediate emotions in resonance with the viewer.  Memory and reminiscence are activated organically. The Viewer is immediately pulled into a space of intimacy.

Her creative process is a maturation of biographical elements, texts loved and reread, digestion of the work of artists, personal research and encounters.

On the canvas, the composition develops into a light structure, complexity grows through oil color in multiple layers and textures.

An instinctive colorist, repainting and reworking are an integral part of the process and narrative.

Each painting opens an intimate space where the ambiguity of relationships, the place of women and solitude are explored.
